ZODIAC U19 TOURNAMENT WINNERS

Suva, Fiji – Team Zodiac made up of high school students of Yat Sen has taken home the spoils from the first U19 Tournament organised by Raiwaqa Basketball Players Youth Association.
The team consisting of current National Mens Training squad member Junior Waqabaca defeated the hometown favourites Might Mights in the last minutes of the game .
With bragging rights and One Hundred & Fifty Dollars at stake, fans and supporters were not disappointed at the level of basketball displayed by the two teams.
Going neck to neck at every quarter, it came down to the last minutes on which team would not buckle under pressure.

Waqabaca the highest scorer of the game and team captain Rusiate Katonitabua - was a positive drive to the team keeping the boys calm and collected and was rewarded with a unsportsmanship foul from Might Mights in the last minute of the game and allowing them to extend their lead and ending the game at 35 – 31.
Zodiac Coach and National U15 Coach William Peters says he is very proud of the boys as they came prepared for a physical game and understood they need to also be mentally prepared. The team is made of Yat Sen students and was in preparation for the Secondary School Competition in Term Two.
The winning side also has bigger plans and hopes to participate in National Championships and a international tour in 2020.
